Red: A Body in a Cathedral (2016)

In 2016, the Cathedral of St. John-the-Divine invited Eiko to become an artist-in-residence. As such, Eiko is free to wander around, explore, experiment and perform throughout the vast Cathedral. This video finds Eiko in the Cathedral in an evening when it is closed to visitors. Starting with her visit to irradiated Fukushima in 2014, this red cloth has accompanied Eiko in almost all of her solo performances.

This video is a result of Eiko's collaboration with Alexis Moh who has filmed most of Eiko's performances between 2014 and 2016.
