A Body with Commercials (2015)

Eiko performed A BODY IN A STATION in Fulton Center on June 22-24 as part of 2015 River to River Festival. The Fulton Center opened fall 2014, but the retail shops and restaurants had yet to move in. Two huge projections dominated the space with fast paced, brightly colored commercials. On a Saturday morning, I placed my body there in the effort to absorb (get used to) what seems to be so opposite of what I try to bring to the place. A body is an ancient measurement stick that offers a scale to things.
