A Body in East Village (2016)

Eiko's solo project, A Body in Places, was the focus of Danspace Project's tenth PLATFORM, a month-long curated program, during which Eiko gave near daily performances in various locations throughout the East Village. The sites were chosen for their variations and intimacy. The limited audience members gathered at St. Marks Church and walked to the undisclosed site as a group. Although every performance was filmed, these three locations were chosen to illuminate how each place shaped Eiko's performance and how her body is offered as a common experience during the PLATFORM. While PLATFORM is the result of Eiko's long time collaboration with Danspace and its curators, this trilogy is exemplary of the collaboration between Eiko and Alexis Moh, who filmed some 18 months of A BODY IN PLACES.
