Forrest Gander
Poet and friend Forrest Gander has watched Eiko & Koma's works for many years and presented their Retrospective Project at Brown University, subsequently publishing a poem book titled Eiko & Koma, which has also been translated and published in Spanish and Japanese. Forrest has recited his poems at Eiko's performances in Santiago, Chile; New York; and Tokyo. In August 2019 at Tokyo MoMA, Forrest and Eiko performed collaboratively as a duet.
Forrest Gander (born 1956) is an American poet, translator, essayist, and novelist. The A.K. Seaver Professor Emeritus of Literary Arts & Comparative Literature at Brown University, Gander won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 2019 for Be With, and is chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.
